Lodging
There is no lodging in the Joshua Tree National Park, though
campsites are available. Lodging can be found in nearby cities, see below.

Springs, Indio, Twentynine
Palms and Yucca
Valley, with something for every taste and price range.

A total of nine campgrounds are available in Joshua
Tree National Park. Backcountry camping is allowed with a permit. Water and flush
toilets are available only in Black Rock Canyon and Cottonwood campgrounds, the
rest offer chemical toilets. All campgrounds provide fireplaces and tables. Collecting
wood inside the park is prohibited. None have showers. For reservations at Black
Rock Canyon and group sites, call 1-877-444-6777.

Horses are permitted only in Ryan and Black Rock Canyon.

Black Rock Canyon - 100 sites, water and flush toilets, fire rings, close to Black Rock Springs and Eureka Peak trails. Fee $15. Horses are permitted in Black Rock Canyon.
Cottonwood - 62 sites, water and flush toilets, a good tent site; crowded on weekends. Group camping by reservation - 3 sites. Fee $30/group.

Indian Cove - 107 sites, unusual setting surrounded by rock formations. Group camping by reservation -13 sites. Fee $15-$30/group.
Sheep Pass - 6 group sites. Group camping by reservation. Fee $10/group.

Reservations: Sites at Black Rock and Indian Cove campgrounds may be reserved from October 1 through May 31 by calling 1-877-444-6777 up to six months in advance of the date you want to reserve. Or you may make reservations online at www.recreation.gov
